Coastal & Port Hacking
Salt spray off Bate Bay and Port Hacking settles on outdoor coils and eats through standard aluminium fins.
Ducted, split, multi-split and VRV systems designed for the part of the Shire you actually live in. Salt air in Cronulla, river humidity in Sylvania, frosty mornings in Engadine. Each one needs a different system.
Alpha & Omega Air Conditioning, a family-owned business based in Kirrawee. We've installed, serviced and repaired air conditioning across the Sutherland Shire since 1989, and we're an authorised Daikin Specialist Dealer covering all 42 Shire suburbs, from Kurnell and Cronulla to Menai, Engadine and Waterfall, with fixed quotes and no travel surcharges.
An uncoated condenser that lasts for years in Kirrawee can start corroding within a few seasons at Kurnell. A unit sized for a breezy Caringbah South block can struggle on a still January afternoon in Barden Ridge.
So before we recommend anything, we work out which of these four zones your home sits in.
Salt spray off Bate Bay and Port Hacking settles on outdoor coils and eats through standard aluminium fins.
Water on three sides means sticky, humid air most of summer. An oversized unit cools the room fast, then switches off before it pulls the moisture out.
Roads, car parks and shopping centres hold heat well into the evening. Apartments add strata rules on noise, balcony space and where the outdoor unit can go.
No sea breeze in summer, frost on winter mornings, and leaf litter, bark and bushfire smoke clogging coils and filters.
Tell us your suburb and the rooms you want to cool or heat. A licensed technician will give you straight advice, not a sales pitch.
Every system type, installed and looked after by the same local team.
Whole-home heating and cooling hidden in the ceiling, with slim vents and zoning so you only run the rooms you're using. Suits the single and double storey family homes common through Jannali, Engadine and Menai.
Ducted air conditioning →The practical choice for a bedroom, living area, home office or granny flat. Most split system installs are done in a day, and Daikin inverters are quiet enough for a bedroom.
Split systems →Up to five indoor units on one outdoor unit, each with its own controls. Good for apartments with tight balcony space, or for keeping a waterfront deck free of condensers.
Multi-split systems →For large multi-level homes and commercial buildings. One high-capacity outdoor unit runs many indoor units, and can heat one room while cooling another.
VRV systems →Fault finding, gas leak checks, coil and filter cleaning, and preventative maintenance. Our vans carry genuine spare parts, so most faults are fixed on the first visit.
Service & repairs →Offices, shops and medical rooms from Taren Point to Sutherland. We also fit AirTouch 5 zone control and Daikin Wi-Fi so you can run the system from your phone.
Commercial air →Most air conditioning problems we get called out to are sizing problems. A unit that's too small runs flat out all day. One that's too big short-cycles and never deals with humidity.
Room sizes, ceiling heights, which way the glass faces, insulation and roof access. All measured on site, not guessed over the phone.
We calculate how much heating and cooling each room needs, so every unit is matched to the space it serves.
Salt protection for the coast, dry mode for the rivers, compact units for strata, heating capacity for the bush.
One price before any work starts. No travel surcharge for Bundeena, Maianbar, Kurnell or anywhere else in the Shire.
Drop sheets down, on-time arrival, tidy pipe runs, and the site left as clean as we found it.
We show you the controls and set a service interval that suits your location, not a generic one.
Salt, pollen, road dust and heavy summer use leave a film on coils and filters. The compressor then works harder for the same result, and you pay for it on the power bill.
Call us if you notice any of these:
Daikin builds its systems for Australian conditions, and we've seen how they hold up in the Shire's salt, humidity and heat. Their inverter compressors ramp up and down gently rather than switching on and off, which keeps them quiet and cheaper to run.
As a Specialist Dealer, Daikin recognises us as Residential, Commercial and VRV Aircon Experts.
We started in the Shire in 1989 and we still work here every day. That means we already know which streets get the salt, which valleys get the frost, and which strata buildings need approval first.
More than 35 years of hands-on work across the Sutherland Shire, from our base in Kirrawee.
We turn up when we say we will, put drop sheets down, and clean up properly before we leave.
A written quote before work begins. No hidden extras, no upselling, and no surcharge based on your suburb.
We cover every residential suburb in the Sutherland Shire, postcodes 2224 to 2234, plus Sandy Point (2172). Search for yours below.

A system with a factory-applied anti-corrosion coating on the outdoor coil. Every Daikin outdoor coil comes with Blue Fin coating as standard. We also place the outdoor unit out of the direct sea breeze where possible, and rinse the coil at each service to clear salt build-up.
Yes. We service all 42 residential suburbs in postcodes 2224 to 2234, plus Sandy Point. That includes Bundeena and Maianbar, and there's no travel surcharge for them.
Ducted suits homes where you want to heat and cool most rooms and there's enough roof or subfloor space for the ducts. Split systems are better for one to three rooms, apartments, or homes with no usable roof cavity. If you need several rooms but have limited outdoor space, a multi-split sits in between.
At least once a year. For homes near the water or backing onto bushland, we recommend every six months, because salt and leaf debris build up on the coils faster there.
Yes, as long as it's sized for heating and not just cooling. Modern Daikin inverters run a defrost cycle when frost forms on the outdoor unit. The key is choosing a unit with enough heating capacity for the coldest mornings, which is part of our heat load calculation.
Yes. Most buildings need body corporate approval for the outdoor unit location, noise level and pipe runs. We can provide the specifications your strata manager asks for, and a multi-split is often the neatest option when balcony space is tight.
Daikin systems we supply and install come with a 5-year parts and labour warranty.
Yes. We hold ARC refrigerant handling licence AU54289 and NSW contractor licence 329810C.
