Air Conditioning Malabar Hot at Lunch, Cold by Dinner
Malabar sits on Long Bay facing straight out to the Tasman, with the headland and its coastal reserve on one side. When a southerly change rolls in on a summer afternoon, the temperature can fall sharply in minutes.

- Fast southerly changes
Air conditioning in Malabar has to handle weather that flips in an afternoon. A reverse cycle system can cool on a hot morning and switch to gentle heating when a southerly drops the temperature at dusk. Auto mode, sensible set points and app control mean you are comfortable without constantly changing settings. Alpha & Omega has installed reverse cycle systems across Sydney since 1989.

Malabar FAQs
Malabar Reverse Cycle Questions
What does auto mode do on an air conditioner?
It chooses heating or cooling automatically to hold the temperature you set, which suits fast-changing coastal weather.
Is it efficient to switch between heating and cooling in one day?
Modern inverter reverse cycle systems handle it well. A single steady set point is more efficient than constant adjustments.
What temperature should I set all year?
Around 22 to 24°C is comfortable for most people in both seasons.
Do coastal winds affect the outdoor unit?
Strong winds carry salt and sand, so sheltered placement and regular cleaning help.
How often should a Malabar system be serviced?
Every six to twelve months, given the salt and sand near the beach.
Is Alpha & Omega licensed?
Alpha & Omega is licensed under ARC AU54289 and NSW contractor licence 329810C.
