Stairs, not lifts
Indoor and outdoor units are carried up by hand, so we choose compact, lighter equipment and protect the common stairwell.
Bondi's streets are lined with Art Deco and inter-war walk-up apartment blocks: three or four storeys, no lift, solid brick walls and small rooms. They have plenty of charm, and they need an air conditioning install planned around their quirks.

Air conditioning in Bondi walk-ups needs a light, careful approach. Equipment is carried up narrow stairwells, thick double-brick walls take proper core drilling, and outdoor units usually sit on a small balcony or rear wall with strata approval. A compact inverter split, sized for the room, is usually the right fit. Alpha & Omega has worked on older Sydney apartment blocks since 1989.
Three things we plan for in almost every Art Deco block.
Indoor and outdoor units are carried up by hand, so we choose compact, lighter equipment and protect the common stairwell.
Solid masonry needs clean core drilling and careful sealing so the facade stays tidy and weatherproof.
Owners corporations often control where outdoor units and pipe covers can go on the building.
Most single-room installs are completed in a day once strata approval is in place.
